Chengdu Economic and Technological Development Zone is a new industrialization demonstration base of China's automobile industry, composed of high-end manufacturing industry and green smart automobile industry. The zone has now introduced 10 automobile manufacturers, including FAW-Volkswagen, FAW Toyota, and Volvo, and more than 300 key components manufacturers, as well as nearly 70 Fortune Global 500 companies. In 2019, it became the sixth largest automobile industry base in China.
